- This is an interactive Trelliscope rendered on May 24th, 2023 that contains all subsequent awards over $50,000 for the 2277 tracked AFWERX portfolio companies. The Trelliscope allows users to dynamically explore the 19,932 subsequent awards across over nearly 100 features or use one of the 3 pre-defined SHELDON views to explore the data.
AFWERX Portfolio Company Subsequent FPDS Phase III Explorer Application”
- This application allows users explore all of the subsequent FPDS Phase III awards for AFWERX portfolio companies across a set of nearly 75 features. Users select the set of variables they wish to explore and the application will produce an interactive sunburst chart of the variables and an interactive table summarising the total amount, number of distinct FPDS Phase III awards and number contract actions across the selected variables. The summary output data is exportable via a csv file.

These trelliscopes reflect the analysis best suited for describing the types of companies that make up the Air Force/AFWERX SBIR/STTR portfolio 2018-present BEFORE the Air Force/AFWERX intervention. These trelliscopes include variables that explicitly identify New USG Vendors, New P1/P2 Companies and Prior FPDS P3 Companies.
Including these variables helps to form a cleaner splits by these key types of companies.
Normalized Per 5 Years of USG Government Performance Excluding Day Variables Including Key Labels
This is a sample analysis that attempts to look at each company on an apples to apples basis by normalizing all of the count and amount input variables to the same 5 years of output and then removing all count of day related variables. More work needs to be done on refining the inputs to this approach before adopting insights from this form analysis.
